BACH FLOWER ESSENCES

Our sleep-related Bach flower remedies are an alternative or complementary treatment that is used to support emotional balance and well-being. They are prepared from diluted extracts from the flowers of wild plants. Edward Bach, a medical doctor, and homeopath created these remedies in the early 1900s. Dr. Bach began collecting plants and in particular flowers – the most highly-developed part of a plant. – in the hope of finding gentler natural remedies. He devoted his life to a new system of healing that he was sure could be found in nature. Over years of trial and error, which involved preparing and testing thousands of plants, he found one by one the remedies he wanted. Each was aimed at a particular mental state or emotion.

He found that when he treated the personalities and feelings of his patients their unhappiness and physical distress would be alleviated naturally as the healing potential in their bodies was unblocked and allowed to work once more. His life followed a seasonal pattern from 1930 to 1934. The spring and summer spent looking for and preparing the remedies; the winter giving help and advice to all who came looking for them. At the completion of his life’s work, Dr. Bach had discovered 36 natural flower-based remedies. A year after announcing that his search for remedies was complete, Dr. Bach passed away peacefully on the evening of November 27th, 1936.  He left behind him a system of healing that is now used all over the world.

Bach had enjoyed many years of successful research in London. His work brought him fame and a high professional standing among both orthodox and homeopathic doctors. Now he had founded an entirely new approach to healing that concentrated exclusively on the emotional and spiritual health of people rather than their physical symptoms.

It is suitable for those that fear that they are starting to lose control of their mind and feel quite tense and on edge of having a mental breakdown. Cherry Plum helps to bring calmness, peace, and a rational state of mind.

Dr. Bach wrote: Those who are quick in thought and action and who wish all things to be done without hesitation or delay. When ill they are anxious for a hasty recovery. They find it very difficult to be patient with people who are slow, as they consider it wrong and a waste of time and they will endeavor to make such people quicker in all ways. They often prefer to work and think alone, so that they can do everything at their own speed.

WHITE CHESTNUT

White Chestnut is native to the Balkans. As a Bach flower essence, it was used primarily to calm and quieten the mind when there are many cluttered unwanted thoughts solacing the inner voice that says “I cant”.

Dr. Bach wrote: White Chestnut is for those who cannot prevent thoughts, ideas, arguments which they do not desire from entering their minds. Usually at such times when the interest of the moment is not strong enough to keep the mind full.

Homeopathic Ingredients

HOMEOPATHIC REMEDIES

Homeopathy is a healing system based on the ancient belief that the body can cure itself. At Volo Wellbeing we use tiny amounts of natural substances, like plants and minerals. We believe that these support the natural healing process. How does it work? The belief of homeopathy is “like cures like.” In other words, something that brings on symptoms in a healthy person can - in very small doses - treat an illness with similar symptoms. This helps to trigger the body’s natural defenses.

COFFEA ARABICA
(COFFEA CRUD)

Coffea Crud works in the opposite way from coffee. It is extracted, heavily diluted, and made from green unroasted beans to make a popular homeopathic remedy for calming the mind, and supporting sleep. It also works for those that are caffeine sensitive. The remedy works when there is strong overexcitement in the nervous system. We use it as it is powerful for stopping racing thoughts at night-time and suitable for supporting getting to sleep, as well as, staying asleep during minor noise disturbances.

MAGNESIUM PHOSPHATE
(MAG PHOS)

Magnesium phosphate in homeopathy supports the healthy functioning of the nervous system. It is used to reduce feelings of muscular tension and tightness, to support a night of more restful and natural sleep.

ZINC VALERIANATE
(ZINC VALERIANATE)

Zinc valerianate is prepared from the active constituent of the herb Valerian. In homeopathy, it is used to support sleep in cases of sleeplessness due to nervousness and oversensitivity. It is beneficial in situations of over-tiredness when the mind is full of ideas, and there is difficulty in mental clarity and focus.
